I selected the book Twitter Power 2.0 How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time by Joel Comm. I have already been a user of Twitter for over a year now, but I picked this book in hopes it could teach me something new about Twitter. This book is about how to create a Twitter account, it takes you through every single step of how to get it up and running, and then how to maintain it, socialize through it, reach your target market through it and possibly make money off of it. It was written to teach people with a market to reach how to do that through Twitter. It is written in a tone to people that aren’t familiar with Twitter but want to start utilizing the social media aspect for their business or to just get their name out there within certain industries they are a part of.
There are many valuable points to this book. I think the most valuable lesson from this book is how to create your “following” on Twitter and connect with people with the same interests as you. I think when you first create a Twitter and you have no idea what you are doing, it can be overwhelming. However, because of this book, I’m sure it has helped many people with an actual purpose to be on Twitter find the people they needed to and start socializing with them and creating valuable relationships.
This is a great book and strong in many areas of starting the social media process on Twitter. Anyone looking for a book for marketing on Twitter should definitely read it; there is something for everyone in here, from the beginner to the advanced user. This book included many great tips on how to grow your name, brand, image, and ultimately products on twitter. By following the tips Joel Comm laid out and then the 30 day action plan for getting started, you will surely see better results than just starting blindly by yourself with no help or background knowledge of Twitter.
